Shadows of 5D black holes from string theory

چکیده

We study the shadow behaviors of five dimensional (5D) black holes embedded in type IIB superstring/supergravity inspired spacetimes by considering solutions with and without rotations. Geometrical properties as shapes sizes are analyzed terms D3-brane number rotation parameter. Concretely, we find that indeed significantly distorted such physical parameters size shadows decreases brane or "color" rotation. Then, investigate geometrical observables energy emission rate aspects.

Black Holes and String Theory

This is a short summary of my lectures given at the Fourth Mexican School on Gravitation and Mathematical Physics. These lectures gave a brief introduction to black holes in string theory, in which I primarily focussed on describing some of the recent calculations of black hole entropy using the statistical mechanics of D-brane states. The following overview will also provide the interested stu...

THE QUANTUM PHYSICS OF BLACK HOLES: Results from String Theory

We review recent progress in our understanding of the physics of black holes. In particular, we discuss the ideas from string theory that explain the entropy of black holes from a counting of microstates of the hole, and the related derivation of unitary Hawking radiation from such holes.

Black Holes in Supergravity and String Theory

We give an elementary introduction to black holes in supergravity and string theory. The focus is on the role of BPS solutions in fourand higher-dimensional supergravity and in string theory. Basic ideas and techniques are explained in detail, including exercises with solutions.

from which the global properties can be understood. Here r(u, v) and w(u, v) are certain functions whose details are not so material. The important properties come from the singularities at uv = 1. There are two branches of this singularity, as u and v may be both negative or both positive. The “physical region” is the region uv < 1 between the two singularities. The branch of the singularity w...

black holes in effective string theory

We investigate the qualitative new features of charged dilatonic black holes which emerge when both the Yang-Mills and Gauss-Bonnet curvature corrections are included in the effective action. We consider these perturbative effects by an expansion up to second order in the inverse string tension on the four dimensional Schwarzschild background and determine the backreaction. We calculate the the...
